Autumn term - week 7

Hello Sounding Out families

I hope you have had a good week. I thought I would send you something slightly different this week instead of a video…..a podcast! David Walliams has worked with Classic Fm to create a whole series of podcasts about music. They are all really interesting and easy to listen to! Each one is under 20 minutes long and the first one is about the wonderful Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It’s full of fascinating and fun facts and clips of music (and plenty of silliness too!)

There are 10 episodes so far so plenty of listening for any long journeys coming up over half term! Copy this link into your browser to listen to the first episode.

One of the clips played at the beginning of the podcast is an ARIA (or song) from Mozart’s opera ‘The Magic Flute’. The Queen of the Night aria has become one of Mozart’s most famous pieces of music. Watch this fantastic performance and you’ll see why!

Keep listening until the really famous section at around 40 seconds. Have you heard it before?

I hope you enjoy the podcast. Do let me know what you think!

Have a great week
